BPS / Physiological Society Short Courses in Integrative Pharmacology and Physiology
King’s College London, University of Bristol, University of Glasgow
Lead organisers: Dr Julie Keeble (King’s College London), Professor Richard Apps (University of Bristol), Dr Jim Morrison (University of Glasgow)
The Physiological Society and the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) have joined together to provide three short courses that enable undergraduate and postgraduate students in physiology, pharmacology, biomedical sciences or related discipline to gain a working understanding of in vivo research techniques. These courses are intended for students who are considering pursuing a career in biomedical research and have received excellent feedback in previous years.
The courses are run by each of three universities (King’s College London, the University of Bristol and the University of Glasgow) and held in two parts. The first part involves the students attending a Home Office training course during the Easter vacation. Then in the summer, students attend a five-day hands-on experimental course.
The deadline for courses in 2012 has now closed. However, in vivo training courses are also available at the Glasgow and Strathclyde IMB Summer Schools.
