Full and Affiliate members working in universities can become Society Representatives, and help promote our activities across the UK and abroad. Some of the many ways to get involved include coordinating grant and prize submissions, providing support for new members, and supporting outreach activities.
We support Outreach and Public Engagement activities that raise the awareness, understanding and appreciation of physiology. Through our activities we aim to develop a dialogue with public audiences, and make physiology relevant by understanding the issues which are at the forefront of the public’s mind. Through this we can strengthen positive attitudes about science and perhaps inspire the next generation of physiologists.
We are continually looking for ways to engage with new audiences through a range of Society and Member led activities, from schools outreach, public events, lectures and exhibitions, to Society presence at Science festivals around the country. We also offer support to both Members and non-members wishing to engage with the public on physiology through our Outreach and Public Engagement Grant Schemes. Read more about how to volunteer, or contact email@example.com if you're thinking about getting involved.
The Society was one of the first member bodies to sign the Science Council Declaration on Diversity, and is committed to promoting a diverse scientific workforce. For more information, see our diversity pages.
