Introduction to Molecular Biology Techniques, 26-27 March 2012

This two-day workshop is intended for physiologists who want to learn the basic yet essential techniques used in molecular biology. This workshop is complementary to the workshop Transfection and Functional Studies and will run consecutively on 26-27 March 2012. Delegates can apply to attend either or both workshops.
Techniques covered will include:
- Gel electrophoresis and visualisation of DNA
- Restriction enzyme digest
- DNA fragment size estimation and mapping
- DNA and RNA isolation
- Bacterial transformation
- PCR (polymerase chain reaction)
There are 16 places available for this workshop. To apply, please complete an application form by Monday 20 February 2012.
Registration is free for Members (details of how to join The Society are available here). Registration for Non-Members is £50. Applicants will be asked to provide payment details if they are awarded a place.
Whilst the registration fee does not include accommodation, it will be possible to redeem some of the accommodation costs following the workshop.
