We are looking for a postdoctoral scientists to join a friendly group to work on an Astra Zeneca funded project ‘Investigation of novel mechanisms to restore epithelial barrier integrity’.  The project will use an in vitro approach to investigate the ability of the identified drugs to maintain/restore airway epithelial barrier resistance and modify abundance, assembly and localization of specific tight junction proteins in the face of pro-inflammatory challenge.

You should have an Honours degree in a biological subject and a higher degree (PhD) in a related subject with experience in epithelial cell physiology. Proficiency in lung epithelial cell culture would be a distinct advantage. Prior experience in protein analysis, immunocytochemistry and confocal microscopy would also be encouraged.
