We seek an experienced postdoctoral neuroscientist to drive a project that investigates the neural networks and chemical mediators that underlie how and when the deep superior colliculus activates cardiovascular and respiratory outflows in the rat. The project uses in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetic, behavioural and neuroanatomical tracing approaches to determine these interactions.

The incumbent will be involved in the design and execution of experiments, the analysis of experimental data, the preparation of scholarly publications and the training and mentoring of students in the laboratory. The position is funded for at least 2 years, is available immediately, and comes with a $88 - 120k (AUD) salary package.

Further details on the selection criteria and application process are available at http://jobs.mq.edu.au/cw/en/job/500364/postdoctoctoral-research-fellow-integrative-neuroscience

Potential applicants are encouraged to contact simon.mcmullan@mq.edu.au for informal discussion of the project.
