We are seeking a advanced PostDoc fellow in cardiovascular biology. In our research projects we examine the inner workings of Ca2+ signaling and excitation-contraction coupling of the heart on the cellular and molecular level, both in health and in animal models of cardiac diseases. State-of-the art biophysical methods are applied including Ca2+ imaging with laser-scanning confocal microscopy, uncaging approaches (e.g. two-photon excitation photolysis of caged compounds) complemented by computational modeling approaches, electrophysiology and various biomolecular methods.

This position provides excellent long term academic career opportunities in a highly interactive and networked international environment.

Qualifications: MD or PhD in a medical or biological discipline. Experience in patch clamp,  calcium imaging and cardiovascular background knowledge would be an asset. In addition, interest in university lecturer teaching for medical students at level Bachelor is crucial. Excellent knowledge of English or German is required.

Submitted application should include: 1) cover letter describing motivation, research interests and career goals (1-2 pages), 2) C.V., 3) copies of up to two relevant publications, 4) name and contact information of three references.
