Scientific meetings

Physiology 2011The Society holds a number of conferences throughout the year which attract an international audience. Our events offer a great opportunity to present and develop your own research, and network with other physiologists. Our meetings cover a broad range of themes and topics and are available to Members and non-Members of The Society at all stages in their career.  Our overall aim is to produce a modern, cutting-edge and friendly environment for uninhibited scientific exchange.

The flagship annual meeting of The Society is Physiology, which now attracts over 1100 scientists from across the world.

We also organise a series of Themed Meetings that offer the opportunity for anyone working within the broadest remit of a Theme to present original research, to a relatively small target audience of similarly interested life scientists. These Themed Meetings provide the forum for particular groupings of physiologists to develop and establish close relations and collaborations with each other as well as establishing a means by which the community can learn from each other about new developments in their field.

In addition there are world-class symposia sponsored by our two journals, The Journal of Physiology and Experimental Physiology, and we also support a number of Early Career Physiologists' Symposia for early-career researchers and a range of Techniques related workshops.  Please visit our complete events listings for further information.

The Society can also provide financial support for institutions and scientists to run their own scientific meetings, through our various meetings grants.

If you would like information on any future events, please register your interest.
