This Topic Meeting explores recent developments in mitochondrial biology, developments in understanding fundamental biological processes, and the way that these impact on cell health and function. We will discuss the implications for disease, in particular for healthy ageing, and pathways that might be targets for therapeutic strategies.

Early career researchers can present their work as an oral or poster communication, and the meeting will also include sessions for new late breaking findings.

It is organised by Michael Duchen and Sean Davidson on behalf of the UCL Consortium for Mitochondrial Research (CfMR), and is primarily targeted at graduate students and post docs and will be supported by talks emphasising basic principles and highlighting state of the art techniques supporting explorations of mitochondrial function and dysfunction.
