Mobile Teaching Unit
The Mobile Teaching Unit (MTU) is a lorry that expands into an interactive learning centre, which is funded, staffed and administered by the AIMS CETL within the University of Bristol. It provides students with an opportunity to use a range of clinical equipment to take physiological measurements (mainly cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous) and engage with real physiologists. Activities are designed to enrich current topics based on human physiology in the curriculum. Each visit can accommodate up to 150 students.
The Society has committed sponsorship to the MTU in 2010, 2011 and 2012. We will be arranging a number of visits to schools and festivals over this period. These visits may occasionally be offered as a competition prize.
Schools who are interested in a visit from the MTU should visit our education website, Understanding Life, to register as a Contact of The Society.
