Dr David Lodge FMedSci elected FRS

The Physiological Society extends warm congratulations to Dr David Lodge FMedSci FRS, a Member of our Society since 1975, for his election to Fellowship of The Royal Society in 2016. His research focuses on the mechanisms underlying basic functions of the brain, such as synaptic transmission and plasticity, is of fundamental importance to the molecular basis of neurological conditions affecting learning and memory and/or implicated in Alzheimer's disease and epilepsy. His is aimed principally at the role kainate receptors play in synaptic plasticity and in the development of epileptic conditions.
