Physiological Reports welcomes new Associate Editor

Physiological Reports is pleased to announce that as of September 2016, Dr Robert Semple will join its team of Associate Editors.

Robert is an Honorary Consultant Endocrinologist at the University of Cambridge Metabolic Research Laboratories, with a research fellowship from the Wellcome Trust. He was the winner of the 2015 Starling Medal recognising excellence in UK research. Robert completed his PhD in 2005 under the supervision of Prof. Sir Stephen O’Rahilly, investigating the mechanisms and metabolic role of nuclear hormone receptor signalling.  His main research interests are centred on the pathophysiology of abnormal insulin action in human disease, particularly in disorders that couple these metabolic disturbances to abnormal growth.

Robert will take the place of Professor Julian Davis, who will be stepping down from his role as Associate Editor this month. Julian’s clinical expertise has been a key strength of the editorial team since the journal’s launch, particularly in the handling of Case Reports.
