David Jordan Teaching Award winners 2017

The David Jordan Teaching Awards are intended to support individuals that focus predominantly or exclusively on higher education teaching. Grants are offered for a 12 month period, to enable awardees to carry out a piece of educational research or to develop an educational resource that is relevant to physiology.

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 David Jordan Teaching Awards have been made as follows:

  • Steven Elmer: Teaching Skeletal Muscle Contraction through Reverse Engineering
  • Teresa Thomas: ‘Trickiest Bit’ - A peer tutoring scheme in undergraduate physiology modules
  • Harry Witchel: Teaching students to make medical physiology videos to address misconceptions, and then testing the effects
  • Alison Wood: An Exploratory Study of Designing and Developing a Core Physiology Curriculum for Pre-registration Nursing Education
