Transfection and Functional Studies, 28-29 March 2012
Birkbeck, University of London, UK
Organised by Dr Caroline Pellet-Many (University College London)
This two-day workshop explains the principles and methodologies behind the manipulation of protein expression using a variety of transfection techniques. This workshop is complementary to the workshop Introduction to Molecular Biology Techniques and will run consecutively on 28-29 March 2012. Delegates can apply to attend either or both workshops.
Techniques covered include over-expression of proteins by plasmid transfection and knock-down of protein expression using siRNA (small-interfering RNA). Analysis of protein expression by Western blot will also be detailed.
There are 16 places available for this workshop. To apply, please complete an application form by Monday 20 February 2012.
Registration is free for Members (details of how to join The Society are available here). Registration for Non-Members is £50. Applicants will be asked to provide payment details if they are awarded a place.
Whilst the registration fee does not include accommodation, it will be possible to redeem some of the accommodation costs following the workshop.
