Sports Lab
Sports Lab is a family-friendly exhibition part-sponsored by The Physiological Society. It opened at Weston Park Museum in January 2011. It was created by Museums Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. It provides a fun, fascinating look at the way sport plays an important part in our cultural history – and it involves more than a little bit of science.
The Society’s sponsorship enabled the museum to develop several interactive exhibits that focus more on the physiology of sport. A virtual-reality bike ride around Weston Park provides an opportunity to compete against fellow exhibition visitors, and visitors can also test their reaction speed in a Batak test.
The exhibition was open at Weston Park Museum, Sheffield until 20 November 2011. It is currently at the V&A Museum of Childhood in London as Beautiful Games until 9 September 2012.
