An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to join our Lung Function team based in a bright and modern Department. We are looking for an experienced and fully autonomous Clinical Respiratory Physiologist with a high level of demonstrable technical ability and clinical application. 

You will be required to undertake and interpret a full range of investigations which include full lung function testing, respiratory muscle assessment, capillary blood gases, skin prick allergy testing, bronchial provocation using Mannitol, hypoxic challenge testing and sleep studies. You will need to be flexible and be prepared to work across sites. The post holder will play a key role in helping to further develop the service, including assisting with supporting and expanding the current CPET service. A key requirement of the role will be to supervise, train and assess staff, trainees and students within the hospital and those visiting on clinical placements. This will include being a training officer to our current STP trainee.

Ideally you will be currently working as a Clinical Physiologist at band 6 or band 5 level with significant experience in a lung function laboratory. You should hold a BSc in Respiratory Clinical Physiology, Biological Sciences or an equivalent qualification. The possession of relevant professional qualifications (ARTP Part I /Part II) or equivalent is essential. You should be RCCP registered or at least eligible and working towards registration. Applicants who require further training and development, or those who are working towards gaining the skills required for the post may be considered at a lower grade.

The successful candidate will predominantly be based at the Royal Free Hospital site but will need to be flexible and work across the other two sites as and when required.
