Travel grants

As part of our aim to ensure physiology is flourishing we provide travel grants to enable physiologists to network and attend conferences. In a rolling, 12-month period the following funding is available £700 for Members, £500 for Affiliate Members and £100 for Undergraduate Members.

Funding can be used for any of the following:

  • Attend and present at a research or teaching conference (Undergraduates are not required to present work);
  • Visit another laboratory for collaborative research or to acquire/teach new techniques;
  • Attend a practical workshop or training course that is relevant to physiology.

Allocation prioritisation

As of January 2019, we have introduction a prioritisation system for Travel Grants to ensure a fair allocation across our membership.

Over recent years we have seen a steady rise in the number of Travel Grant applications. While this is a welcome sign of the success of the scheme, this increase in applications requires us to review the process for allocation of funding. More information can be found here

Please note that the application process and eligibility is unchanged.
