Etain is a Senior Lecturer in Physiology and Associate Director of the Centre for Biomedical Sciences Education in Queen’s University Belfast. She has been a full member of The Physiological Society since 2005 and for the past few years acted as The Physiological Society Representative at Queen’s University Belfast.
Etain is an education-focused academic with substantial teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level. She teaches physiology to health science students including those of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, biomedical science and human biology. She has first-hand experience of The Physiological Society’s support for educators: in 2016 she received the David Jordan Teaching Award which enabled her team to extend our research into the use of ultrasound in teaching cardiovascular physiology.
