Society welcomes inaugural Editors-in-Chief for The Journal of Precision Medicine: Health and Disease and The Journal of Nutritional Physiology

3 December 2024

Following the announcement of The Physiological Society’s partnership with Elsevier to launch two new journals, we are delighted to introduce the Editors-in-Chief of The Journal of Nutritional Physiology and The Journal of Precision Medicine: Health and Disease.

The Journal of Precision Medicine

The Society welcomes Professor Colleen Clancy, from the University of California, Davis, USA, as the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Precision Medicine: Health and Disease. Precision medicine takes a personalised approach to clinical research and healthcare, and our new journal will cover this rapidly evolving field at the intersection of physiology and personalised healthcare.

Announcing her appointment, Professor Colleen Clancy shares:

The Journal of Precision Medicine will serve as platform for sharing novel discoveries fuelled by the new era of biomedical data integration and the transformative power of AI. By harnessing insights from genomic data, clinical research, and real-world evidence, the journal will champion innovation at the intersection of data science, modelling and simulation, experimentation and medicine. The Journal of Precision Medicine aims to foster collaboration and drive progress in precision discovery, diagnosis, and therapy, addressing complex biomedical challenges with cutting-edge solutions.

Submissions to The Journal of Precision Medicine: Health and Disease are now open, and we welcome papers focused on a wide range of topics, including novel discovery and research on individualised treatment plans based on a person’s unique physiological characteristics, genetic makeup, lifestyle factors and more. The Journal of Nutritional Physiology

Additionally, the Society welcomes Professor Craig Sale, from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK, as the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Nutritional Physiology. The Society has long supported the nutrition community through its activities, and this new journal launch will further support the community by exploring how nutrients from food interact with the body.

In response to his appointment, Professor Craig Sale said:

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the inaugural Editor-in-Chief for The Journal of Nutritional Physiology. Alongside the journals handling and review editors, we hope, in time, to make The Journal of Nutritional Physiology a journal of choice that one immediately thinks of when considering the publication of their highest quality work on how nutrients from food interact with the body at a cellular and physiological level.”

Submissions to the Journal of Nutritional Physiology are now open, and we welcome research exploring how nutrients from food interact with the body at a cellular and physiological level, including approaches examining how different dietary components impact processes such as metabolism, digestion, absorption, overall health and performance, and more. Building on the formidable reputations of both organisations, the two new titles will become essential platforms for researchers to share their pioneering research and insights. Article processing charges will be waived for both journals until 2027.
