Eleanor Raffan is a veterinary surgeon and Associate Professor in Systems Physiology at the University of Cambridge. Her research uses naturally occurring genetic variation in pet dogs to understand the biology of appetite and obesity. She will discuss how canine genetics is revealing fundamental mechanisms regulating food intake, body weight, and energy balance, and how discoveries in dogs can provide important insights into human obesity biology and potential therapeutic targets.
