This is a report of how medical physiology is taught in Romania. Questions on courses structure, courses content, personnel teaching the courses, materials available to the students and assessment of students were asked to all Physiology Departments of Universities or Faculties of Medicine from Romania. Staff of these departments represents the majority of the members of the Romanian Society of Physiological Sciences. Since now 8 out of 11 departments replied the questionnaire. This report is for now only a cross section onto the status of Medical Physiology Teaching in Romania but it is intended to be the start of a comprehensive survey.

Where applicable, experiments conform with Society ethical requirements.
