Responsible for providing advice and support on all HR matters, including contributing effectively to the development of The Society’s HR policies, managing the training and development framework, management of pensions and payroll, and staff wellbeing oversight.

Develops, manages, and implements The Society's conference programme and related schemes. Relationship management of various stakeholders including members and broader physiology community, Scientific Conferences Committee, and other external stakeholders.  Develops and drives income streams through exhibition & sponsorship.

Oversees the editorial operations and development of The Physiological Society's journals portfolio, and all other publishing-related matters including peer review, production, marketing and ethics. Also sits on the Joint Management Board of Physiological Reports, ex officio.

Manages the editorial operations of The Society’s fully-owned journals, working alongside Editorial Boards to implement publishing strategies and develop author and reader services.

Diana Jones

Peer Review Manager

Ensures the smooth running of the peer review process for all the Society’s journals (The Journal of Physiology, Experimental Physiology, The Journal of Nutritional Physiology, and The Journal of Precision Medicine: Health and Disease), working closely with Editors, Authors and Reviewers. Manages the relationship with the providers of our two submission systems to ensure fair and timely review of all submissions. Oversees the work of our team of Peer Review Co-ordinators, making sure that all accepted manuscripts are published in a timely manner, compliant with the journals’ policies.

My role in the Publications Team as Deputy Managing Editor is primarily the day-to-day management of Experimental Physiology. I administrate prizes, editorial board function, meetings, social media posts, issue compositions etc. I also am the lead on strategies and initiatives for the journal that have a broader outlook as we look to continue growing the journal.
