The Physiological Society has teamed up with I’m A Scientist to produce a new free debate kit asking Should ALL drugs be banned in sport?
Each debate kit contains a 50 minute lesson plan and 8 character cards, which students use to discuss the effect of doping compared with other techniques of improving performance. Adopting characters helps students develop their opinions over time without leaping to an immediate conclusion.
The kit is designed for Key Stage 4 (GCSE or equivalent), but has been used with students between 11-18 years old.
Out of an original 2,000, only 350 kits are left for teachers across the UK and Ireland. They are being snapped up very fast! Teachers wanting to order a free Drugs in Sport debate kit should sign up at debate.imascientist.org.uk to receive one in the next few weeks.
