How do humans cope at the limits of our physiology? What can it tell us about how our bodies function? And could you explain that to teenagers? The Society is pleased to be supporting the Human Limits Zone in June’s round of I’m a Scientist: Get me out of here.
I’m a Scientist is an X Factor style competition for scientists, where students are the judges. You put up a profile on our website, answer questions and have live online (text) chats with school science students. Students vote and the winning scientist gets £500 to spend on science communication.
It’s a unique, fun way of developing communication skills, gaining a fresh perspective on your research, and finding out what young people think about science and the role of scientists.
If you’re interesting in applying for the Human Limits or any other zone, you can find more information, including an application form, on their website.
