The Physiological Society welcomes its first member from the DPRK (North Korea). Dr Song Chan Han, is a physiologist at the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Pyongyang Medical College. He first attended the IUPS 2013 World Congress in Birmingham (see The Expansion of Physiology on http://www.voicesfromoxford.org/video/the-expansion-of-physiology/464 ). His research field is Koryo Traditional Medicine. The President of IUPS, Denis Noble and the President of The Society, Richard Vaughan-Jones, both commented: “This is the culmination of several years of academic interaction with scientists in North Korea. Dr Han is an excellent academic representative of his country and we all hope to see him and his colleagues at future meetings of the Society.”
