What were the outcomes/impact of your project? If still ongoing, what will these be?
We hosted a women’s health symposium to encourage sharing of current research and networking. We had over 40 people attend the symposium and 13 presentations, including research and impact. Of the participants who completed the feedback form, 27% confirmed that they planning to collaborate with someone else who attended as a result of the symposium.
Do you have any plans to continue this work? If so, how?
The symposium is now being held annually to continue the sharing of research, impact, and collaboration.
How did receiving the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Fund grant support you in this work?
The funding allowed us to facilitate attended through travel bursaries, including key note speakers from Women’s Health Research Wales and Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales.
What did you learn from undertaking this project/research/event?
There is a significant appetite for women’s health research and collaboration. Attendees valued the opportunity to present their work, hear about ongoing work and to have dedicated time to network.
Do you have any advice or recommendations for potential future applicants?
The EDI fund is a great opportunity to undertake innovative work to support EDI, and no idea is too small.
