Michael J Rennie Oral Communication Prize
The Universities of Dundee and Nottingham jointly funded this award for the best oral communication by an Early Career Researcher from 2017 to 2025 in memory of Michael J Rennie. There was a £200 prize, a certificate and a ceramic medal.
Who was Michael J Rennie?
Michael J Rennie contributed immensely to the development of the field of muscle physiology. His lifelong research interest was in amino acid metabolism in skeletal muscle in health, exercise, ageing and disease.
Following his death in 2017, the Universities of Dundee and Nottingham agreed to fund 10 awards for early career members of The Society.
