Thank you for your interest in proposing a special issue. If your proposal is accepted, you (and any co-proposers) will be expected to act as Guest Editor for submissions to your special issue. This role necessitates the identification and invitation of referees within 36 hours to provide reports on these submissions. The Guest Editor assesses these reports in line with the scope and policies of The Journal, and is responsible for recommending a thorough decision on acceptability to a Senior Editor. All final decisions on submissions to a special issue are rendered by Senior Editors of The Journal of Physiology, and The Journal retains the right to select other editors to handle submissions to your special issue. Guest Editors are expected to be responsive to The Publications Office throughout the duration of the special issue they are handling.
