We all know how it feels to perform a strenuous bout of exercise. Before long the chest is heaving, the lungs are bursting, the heart is pounding, we get hot, sweat profusely, and the previously co-ordinated efforts of our limbs start to flounder; the muscles hurt and our brains tell us to stop (please!).
