STEM for Britain is always a fantastic opportunity for early-career researchers to communicate their science to a unique and interesting audience. It gives the chance to go to Parliament and be in the company of MPs, policymakers and key figures from the world of science policy, as well as other young researchers from around the country. Not to mention the cash prizes available for the best posters in each discipline, and the overall medal for the best communication of science in the event!
The Physiological Society has supported this event for many years, and relies on a good representation from our members to demonstrate the place of physiology at the cutting edge of research being done in the UK. This is a great platform for Members to develop their science communication skills to non-expert audiences, and could lead to opportunities to highlight your experience to other Society members. For more details, and to submit your application to STEM for Britain, click here. Entries must be received by 5pm on Monday 4th December.
We would be pleased to hear from anyone who decides to enter so we can promote the participation of physiologists in this flagship event for science in Parliament – let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
