Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 will inform approximately £2 billion per year of quality-related research funding for UK universities from the academic year 2022–23 onwards. Following an initial round of nominations in 2017/18, REF 2021 is now seeking further nominations for panel members and assessors with specific expertise in order to finalise the membership of the sub-panels.
As a recognised nominating body, The Physiological Society will provide nominations to Research England.
The Physiological Society is particularly interested in proposing prospective panellists for the following sub-panels:
UOA4: Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience
UOA24: Sport and Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism
UOA5: Biological Sciences
REF are particularly encouraging expression of interest from under-represented groups in addition to people from a diverse range of backgrounds, seniority levels, institution types and geographical regions.
More information about the REF 2021 subpanels can be found here.
If you are interested in applying to sit on one of the REF sub-panels please email Andrew Mackenzie by Monday 23 March 2020 so The Society can draw up a shortlist to be sent to the REF team for consideration ahead of their deadline.
