The Society is pleased to announce the winners of the first Rob Clarke Awards, which were introduced this year to recognise excellence in physiology research at undergraduate level.
Eighteen finalists were selected for a Rob Clarke Abstract Award and invited to present their abstract as a poster to a team of judges at Physiology 2012 on 4 July 2012. Each finalist also received £200 to support their attendance at the meeting and one year’s free membership of The Society.
Six finalists were each awarded a Rob Clarke Presentation Award. These were:
- Lucy Gentles (University of Liverpool)
- Adam Keen (University of Manchester)
- Hannah McKay (University of Oxford)
- Sejal Modasia (King’s College London)
- Jonathan Prager (University of Bristol)
- Mina Skelly (University of Bristol)
Award winner, Sejal Modasia, said: “Thank you for a lovely first experience at Physiology 2012. I had a lovely time and was really honoured to win the Rob Clarke Undergraduate Presentation Award. I look forward to attending many more conferences in the future.”
The Society will host the Rob Clarke Awards again in 2013, with final judging taking place at the IUPS congress in Birmingham. For more information, please email education@physoc.org.
