Annual Conference Symposium Application

  • Symposia are to consist of one organiser (who will also act as the Chair) and an optional co-organiser, only one organiser can be included as a speaker. There should be two senior leaders in the field (each allocated 30 minutes) and two early-career individuals (each allocated 15 minutes). Early-career should be PhD, Postdoc or first faculty position level (non-professorial).

    Each symposium will have the following format: • Senior (30 min) • Early-career (15 min) • Early-career (15 min) • Senior (30 min)

    There will be 15 symposia in total across the three days.

    Each symposium will be funded to a maximum of £2,500 GBP to cover travel, accommodation and subsistence of the organiser/chair AND speakers. Speakers will NOT be required to pay a registration fee. It is the expectation of the Scientific Programme Committee that organisers and speakers find funding from additional sources. This support will be acknowledged online and in the printed programme. A co-organiser may be included but will not be funded.

    All speakers are required to submit an abstract.

    Organisers will be asked to commit to an aspirational target of 50% female representation of organisers, chairs and speakers, with a compulsory minimum of 33%. We will continue to work towards fair geographical balance as well as fair representation of both junior and senior research scientists.
