Welcome to the first edition of our new look digital Physiology News (PN)!

Your magazine, showcasing your voices

Professor Lucy Green, Trustee and Chair of PN Advisory Group

“This is your member magazine and it will continue to showcase the voices of you: our members. As a membership organisation, everything we do is to support physiologists and to advance the discipline of physiology. From every career stage and from right across the world, we want you, our members, to get involved in shaping and contributing to this magazine.”

Professor Lucy Green

This has been the result of hard work over the summer by the staff team with support from the new PN Advisory Group. I would like to thank them for all their efforts.

The Society’s membership magazine has had a few revamps over the years. I hope you enjoy the 2024 iteration as much as I do. It is a truly digital-first magazine, available across platforms, that serves our global community of physiologists. We know that our members value flexibility to read content from their computers, tablets and phones, and this new magazine will make this easy and intuitive.

As well as providing digital accessibility, this new magazine helps deliver on our sustainability goals. Across all our activities we are seeking to reduce our carbon footprint and by eliminating the need for paper, ink and delivery, PN is playing its part.

The format may have changed, but the purpose of PN remains as clear as ever. This is your member magazine and it will continue to showcase the voices of you: our members. As a membership organisation, everything we do is to support physiologists and to advance the discipline of physiology. From every career stage and from right across the world, we want you, our members, to get involved in shaping and contributing to this magazine.

Please read the articles and let us know what you think. We welcome your thoughts as well as your suggestions for what you would like to see in the future. Please email physiologynews@phyoc.org to let us know.

Enjoy the first issue of our new look magazine.
