Getting Started with Designing and Providing Assessment
This session is part of a three-part series to support early career educators building their teaching careers .
In this session, you will have opportunity to consider how to
- undertake your very first assessment task, thinking about how to make judgments against criteria; aligning your assessment decisions with the standards of your fellow markers; and managing the volume of assessment;
- design assessment tasks that fully aligns with your programme learning outcomes;
- build confidence in the quality of your assessment by seeking guidance and mentoring.
Leading the session is Professor Sally Brown, an independent consultant in learning, teaching and assessment and Emerita Professor at Leeds Beckett University. Sally is also Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA) Senior Fellow and a National Teaching Fellow.
